Professional Membership

Professional Members are the heart and soul of our organization. You are engaging in responsible forest stewardship every day, and supporting forests for all their values. In turn, your work benefits all who depend on the forests as well.

Consider Professional Membership if you are a forest professional actively engaged in forest stewardship, including consulting foresters, public and private forest managers, wildlife biologists, botanists, forest administrators, land protection specialists, loggers, scientists and educators. Professional members practice forest stewardship through on-the-ground management, forest policy work, forest land protection, forest advocacy, or forest related research throughout the United States and Canada. You share and support a commitment to the highest ethical standard of forest stewardship and conservation.

Professional Members are eligible to vote for Guild leadership and on policy statements, and are able to serve on committees. Professional Members also receive Guild print and digital publications.

Professional Member candidates are evaluated based on education, professional experience, and commitment to the Guild's mission and principles, which are statements of ethics and values to which all Professional Members are expected to adhere.

After you submit your new member application and payment, we will review your application and get back to you shortly.

Retired Professional Membership

Retired Professional Membership is open to individuals who are interested in continuing to support conservation forestry efforts but are now retired from careers in forest stewardship.

Like Professional Members, Retired Professional Members are eligible to vote for Guild leadership and on policy statements, and are able to serve on committees. You also receive Guild print and digital publications.

Retired Professional Member candidates are also evaluated based on education, professional experience, and commitment to the Guild's mission and principles, which are statements of ethics and values to which all Retired Professional Members are expected to adhere.

After you submit your new member application and payment, we will review your application and get back to you shortly.

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate Members include family forest owners, individuals, and organizations who care about forests and the wildlife they support. Your membership supports the work of the Guild in supporting forest stewards, engaging new forest stewards and our on-the-ground, stewardship in action. Organizations, businesses, or agencies should designate an individual to serve as the contact person with the Guild. Join as an Affiliate Member and we will send a new member packet shortly.

Student Membership

Student Membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students who support the Guild's Mission and wish to become actively involved in the Guild's activities. Membership affords you these benefits:

  • A career network of like-minded individuals.
  • Opportunity to help shape forest stewardship policies.
  • On-the-ground learning opportunities at state, regional, national meetings and field sessions.
  • Email subscriptions to Guild publications including Across the Landscape (our monthly e-newsletter) and the Forest Steward (published twice a year).
  • An opportunity to publish an executive summary of and link to your research on our website.
  • Interaction with other student members as well as practicing professionals.

While there is no charge for Student Memberships, donations are very much appreciated. Join as a student member and you will receive an email acknowledgement right away.
