Ecological Forestry Resource Center
The Forest Stewards Guild created this online resource center to help define and promote ecological forestry. The Ecological Forestry Initiative is built on past Guild efforts including the Tenets of Forestry, and provides web-based access to the tools foresters and affiliated professionals need to practice sound management. The resource center brings together scientific research, management tools, networks of other ecological organizations, and the shared professional wisdom of many Guild foresters. The resource center is intended to be an online "field manual" for ecological forestry, with sections dedicated to overall philosophy, values, and practice, as well as guides on specific ecoregions across the country.
- Definitions of Ecological Forestry This page presents a working definition of ecological forestry and connects the definition to our mission and principles.
- Regional Guides to Ecological Forestry The regional guides tie the philosophy of ecological forestry to best practices in particular ecoregions or forest types.
The Ecological Forestry Resource Center is constantly expanding and welcomes input from Forest Stewards Guild members and other like-minded natural resource experts. Please direct any comments or improvements to Zander Evans (zander@forestguild.org)
