Forest Guild Lake States Program PDF Print E-mail

The Guild has a strong presence in the Lake States Region which includes Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Two examples of regional accomplishments from 2011 include the Lake States regional meeting in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin in October, 2011; and the addition of two forests managed by the Aitkin County Land Department as the first Forest Guild Model forests in the Lake States. The Cornish and Libby Model Forests have unique biodiversity features including rare ferns, salamanders, and birds, and generally have high value as wildlife habitat. These areas also have value as demonstration areas for educational purposes for the general public and natural resource professionals.
